Alternative K9 204 Replacement Flexible Shaft

The Alternative K9 204 Replacement Flexible Shaft includes a 65.6 ft (20m) flexible shaft, a protective sleeve, and a pre-installed adapter compatible with K9 204 drain cleaning machines.

With a 5/16″ (8mm) diameter, this shaft offers a balance of flexibility and torque. It performs well in 3″ to 4″ pipes, especially those with multiple bends, and is suited for removing light scale, soft blockages, or smaller root growth. It is not designed for use with heavy-duty chains or in high-resistance situations such as solid obstructions or heavy scaling.

The 20-meter (65.6 ft) length is the recommended maximum for this shaft, based on compatibility with typical machine housings. Longer lengths may exceed what the equipment can handle.

Failures often occur at the point where the shaft bends sharply after the power source. To reduce downtime, we recommend keeping a few spare K9 204 adapters on hand. If the shaft fails, trimming the damaged section and re-crimping a new adapter can restore functionality without delay. These shafts should not be welded or soldered, as heat treatment is part of their structural integrity.
